can you use a programmable 12 c on the test?

i just bought a new 12c and it has programming on it. can you use this on the test?

Per the CFAI Calculator policy, it is acceptable if it is HP-12C or HP-12C Platinum Edition. http://www.cfainstitute.org/cfaprog/resources/examdetails/policies/calculator.html I believe that all of the HP-12C calculators are programmable (I have platinum edition and it is). Not that the programming will help much - it’s just a keystroke recorder for all intents and purposes. Nice for redundant calculations like skewness and kurtosis, but outside of that I haven’t found as much use for it. -Stillwagon

i figured i wouldnt have to stuff my head with formulas for sd, nCr, pCr, etc. if i programmed all of them in the calc.
