It should be the Canada territory, not a state. That way, no voting rights.
I believe the population is roughly the same size as California, so huge in the electoral college (presidency) and the House.

Dr Ron Paulâs platform in 2012 was abolish the Fed, and abolish income tax and replace it with nothing.

Senator Mike Lee (R, UT) upped the ante by suggesting Dr Ron Paul be made Fed Chair instead.

The onion in the ointment is it seems to be impossible to get a non-Keynesian confirmed by the Senate, In his first term, President Trump tried to nominate a number of excellent candidates for the Fed board, including Herman Cain, who had also sought the GOP nomination in 2012 and who had been a regional Fed Chair (Kansas City). Turtle who was running the Senate at the time told President Trump that he didnât have the votes to confirm them so wouldnât put them forward.

Biden changed the name of Fort Bragg in NC to Fort Liberty. It is now Fort Bragg again, sort of.
It was originally named after Confederate Gen. Braxton Bragg, and founded in 1918, long after the war between states.
Theyâve found another Bragg, Pfc. Roland L. Bragg, a World War II soldier who earned the Silver Star during the Battle of the Bulge in WWII.
So now itâs named after the new Bragg not the Confederate General
Towards the end of the article you linked, it mentions New York City Mayor Eric Adams (a black Democrat). He may be an example of lawfare.
Some of the states suffering from illegal immigration under Biden tried bussing some of those illegals to blue states like NY to share the burden. Especially places that had proudly proclaimed themselves a sanctuary city/state. A highlight was planeloads of illegals being flown to Marthaâs Vineyard. NY responded by trying to bus some of the new arrivals on to Canada.
Mayor Adams only attracted the attention of Bidenâs Justice Department when NYC began to buckle under the weight of the newly arrived illegals and he started sounding off on maybe we should do something about the southern border. Then and only then was he targeted by the Biden administration. I donât know if he did what they accused him of, but he was only targeted once he criticized the Biden administration. None of that was mentioned in the BBC article of course.
And parenthetically, President Trump has just cost the BBC an enormous amount of money as they were one of the recipients of the USAID slush fund that Muskâs DOGE uncovered

I was surprised at the vote (52-48 with no Dems for and only one Rep (McConnell) against)
McConnell is a polio survivor. When he was a kid, his mom threw him in the family car and drove across several states to a March Of Dimes (polio charity) facility which saved his life.
I was surprised that Susan Collins and Lisa Murkowski on the Republican side voted for him.
And until a few short months ago, he was a leading light in the Democrat Party and heir to the Kennedy mantle, so Iâm surprised that not one of his erstwhile friends on the left voted for him.
