stereotype… popcorn got to your brain.
A male nurse? Wow, that’s great. I’d love to find time to do some volunteer work. Just the other day I saw a golden retriever, he had like a gimp, ya know I just wish I could have done something.
Seriously. What is wrong with male nurses?
I think it’s just that most guys don’t enjoy imagining them in sexy-nurse outfits.
However, anyone who’s visited a hospital probably doesn’t enjoy imagining most of the female nurses in sexy-nurse outfits either.
I’ve known a few male nurses, and they are definitely useful to have around when blood is spewing everywhere. I have no issue with male nurses, despite the stereotype that “nurses are female”.
If it helps, maybe male nurses should be called in-house paramedics.
??? have you guys ever gone to a hospital?? I’ve never met a sexy nurse. And many nurses are male. They don’t even dress in professional scrubs anymore, but ugly ones with cats and spongebob and football team logos. (Well in clinics at least, they have higher standards at hospitals maybe) Also why do they commute in scrubs, its so unsanitary.
Btw sorry for confusion, there are two people here. One is def nurse. Other I feel like he said is derivitives guy. Not 100% sure.
Also, two of my closest friends are both nurses, and one is male. I love having nurses in my life, and I have so much respect for them, def can’t do the stuff they deal with everyday.
What about EMTs? I don’t think any of you have issue with those. So it’s really not the “not doctor” negative association but rather specifically “nurse” negative association?
Real dirty job - wiping ass.
Most are gay filipino males.
Ok, let me separate my analysis of what the men on the AF board have against male nurses vs my own point of view (I’m fine with male nurses).
My point about “in-house paramedics” is exactly that. A paramedic in an ambulance (and a battlefield medic) is essentially a nurse, but somehow escapes the derision of the uninformed. Maybe it’s because the paramedic has a big-ass car, and the battlefield medic has a gun.
It seems that you got the point I was making, krnyc, but didn’t realize that it’s the one I was trying to make. (or maybe you were just posing the question to other AFers)
I have been known from time to time to let my mind wander to the sexy nurse fantasy, but after seeing some of the female nurses actually in the line of work, male nurses are really only a tad less suitable to that fantasy than most of the female nurses are.
That’s ok, they’re professionals, and it’s more important that they’re qualified to do what they’re supposed to than that they serve as my personal eye-candy, but a man can dream, no???
And maybe the women in the hospital could use a sexy nurse of their own. I suspect the male nurses might get female patient fantasies purring on that level better than the female nurses do for us guys. And that’s just considering the straight people.
All that said, I don’t quite get why they travel in scrubs either. Scrubs are fairly ugly and seem to be getting uglier by the day. However, health care professionals are mighty proud of them, much like ex cons and their tatoos.
If i was a doctor id be traveling in scrubs saying yea b!tch.
Sexy nurses? Um, yes please. Something about scrubs…
This doesn’t count as a link so you guys will have to figure out how to get there on your own. You can thank me later.

My bad -I shouldn’t have quoted you. It was a question to AF. I got your point

You mean you’ve never met a sexy male nurse or female nurse? I know one really hot female nurse. Sadly she recently got engaged.
I’ve spent a lot of time in hospitals over the last three years, and I’ve broken down the (female) nurses thusly:
50% are pregnant (of these I’d still bang 75% of them)
40% are at least a solid 7.5/10
Another 20% I’d still bang simply because scrubs are sexy as hell.
The rest fall below normal standards, but they still get bonus points for trying to keep my kid healthy. Would bang out of gratitude.
FWIW, 100% of this sample has been from children’s hospitals. Perhaps they have younger, better looking nurses than regular hospitals.
I though sweep and I were just quoting Meet the Parents."
^^ Hope your kid is ok

^^ Hope your kid is ok
Thank you. He’s all good. Except for being a complete hellraiser like any healthy 5 year old boy should be:)

It’s not ugly vs not ugly, it’s unsanitary. You’re tracking stuff into the hospital, and you’re tracking stuff out too. I see lots of nurses or doctors I in scrubs riding their bikes to work. I get that it’s super comfy and great to bike in, but think of all the dirt, grease, etc you’re bringing into a supposedly-sterile environment.
And re: attractive nurses, male or female, most I’ve met are mean and overweight. Exceptions being all the nurses that I personally know, of course.
^ I used to go to a gym where a male nure/surgeon/doctor or whatever would come in and workout in scrubs. That gym was full of hygeine violators though- exactly why I switched.
