Car per income range

My high school was filled with bmws and mercedes. Who in their right mind buys a 16 year old a car like that?! I rocked my honda civic everyday and thought none the less. One of my friends even had 3 cars: a hummer, a porche and an audi he used strictly for show (he now races cars for a living). Needless to say, I had my fill and would never live down there again. I go visit quite often (parents still there) and see many of my friends who don’t have jobs driving the sickest cars. Mommy and daddy bank roll their lifestyles. Most have no clue what it means to budget or pay the rent/mortgage. We can’t rip on nuppal too much b/c it’s the norm in many FL cities …

I WILL NEVER BE SEEN IN A TOYOTA OR A HONDA. NEVER EVER. carry on.

Hey – he started it. You guys are right, though. It is stupid on my part. Sorry. I will delete that

can’t

^I can’t stand their high quality, reliability, and resale value!

In high school I got an '89 Oldsmobile Cutlass Ciera. I loved that thing. But unfortunately it got taken away after 1 year of use. I now drive an Infiniti.

Toyota and Honda shout out to all - hey look at me I am a safe bet, come date me and I’ll take you to Olive Garden, or hey I am 32 and a mum for 3 adorable kids, or hey I am always thinking about how to be sensible with my money. in other words, boring.

The Altima is pretty cool but you hit it on the head.

That’s a Nissan

needhelp, some people don’t feel the need to express themselves through their vehicle because they don’t need to.

So safe, reliable products with good resale value = boring? You could make an argument that Toyotas have soft suspension, and are therefore not entertaining for enthusiasts, but for Hondas, this is not the case. You can’t even say that they are boring because everyone drives them. GM sells more cars than Honda, so wouldn’t that make Cadillacs more boring?

AlexP and Daviskr - Been thinking about getting a 4runner for awhile. I am 6’3’’ and would think this car would be easier for me to get in and out of. What year / how much did you guys pay if you dont mind my asking. Any pointers would be appreciated with these cars.

A little more than I wanted to spend right out of college, but I put my first couple bonuses towards the note and paid it off. I am dreading the day I’ll have another car payment. The cost of gas really doesn’t bother me. I feel it’s a trade off for being able to have an SUV and lug all the crap I want. Can’t beat it for road trips or hauling my golf clubs. So here’s to you, fellow 4Runner lover … +10! artvandalay Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > ^I can’t stand their high quality, reliability, > and resale value! You’re my boy, artie!

I grew up in south OC, the unofficial capital of cool, and people would rather take the bus, even if they were seniors rather than be seen in an American car. A beat up Honda had more creed than anything coming out of Detroit. I walk to work, so I splurge in shoes. However, if all goes well and I have cash to burn, I’m getting myself an Aston.

I own a CLK55 AMG, but I am thinking of selling it and getting a used Prius and a nice bike. I like in a big city, so zipping around roads would be awesome and I don’t really like dealing with a stick while going on a normal drive.

Nuppal, I frequently read AF but rarely post. However, your absurd comments deserve a response and I would gladly say this to your face. If I were in your shoes, I would sit back and use AF as a resource to learn rather than your personal sounding board. For someone “working 13 hours a day” you certainly find a lot of time to post on here. Buyicide is right. You have no clue about the real world and your perspective on salary ranges couldn’t be farther from the truth. I know plenty of people that make $500k and don’t drive anything in your range. Want to know why? Because those people most likely have a mortgage, kids, Pace Academy tuition, etc, etc. Sit back, learn from all the knowledgeable people on here, get your own place, and a job in finance. Then, and only maybe then, you will have any clue what you’re talking about. “But it is really kind of lame to just tell some kid he sucks. It is a lot more fun to really draw it out and teach him a lesson.” - Ironically, a quote from Nuppal’s facebook profile

Everyone should drive (or dream to drive) a Porsche Carrera. Yes, I drive one and I am a CFA charter holder.

The CLK 55 AMG is a nice ride.

I drive a rusting 1990 sedan with 150K miles. My old man has an “extra” BMW Z3 that I might be able to get if things end up well. The Z3 looks good and accelerates strongly but does not handle very well.
