Career change

Hey all. Requesting a little advice if at all possible. 27 years old, finishing up MBA at mid-ranked MBA school, live in south Georgia. Really hate what I do and want to make a career change and get into finance. I’d like to be portfolio manager but I understand I’m not going to be able to get into that for years. Anyway, I’m going to begin studying for CFA, and after I pass level 2 was thinking about applying for investment research job in Atlanta. I understand I’m going to take a paycut and am going to be an entry level guy working like a dog for several years. I’m ready for that and am willing to make the sacrifice to get to where I want to be. Am I on the right track?
