cash flow per share ratio

so in the cash flow chapter, cash flow per share ratio was cfo-preferred dividences/average # of shares outstanding… but in the fin stmt techiniques chapter, cf per share ratio is JUST cfo/average # of shares outstanding… which is correct?

I think it depends if it’s cfo available to common equity or to total equity. Please correct me if I’m wrong.

I think this is one of the changes from the 07 to 08 materials. In 08, unless specified, ratios are for all shares outstanding, common and preferred included. The first seems to be the ratio to common, the second seems to be the ratio to all (common and preferred) outstanding shares.
