Cayman Islands

Has anyone here had a financial job in the Cayman Islands? How did you find the job? Did you enjoy your time there?

Yes, do tell.

Had a friend go on secondment there some years ago with a Big 4 tax group. Can’t be too bad - he never came home

i used to work with a siv that was based there. to the best of my knowledge there was just a mailbox and lawyer that sat there. neither were good at returning calls or replying to email.

What about getting tail? How is it for that?

I’ve heard folks going there for accounting and actuarial work. Havent heard much about finance, but it definitely sounded cool from what I saw.

I deal with Mauritius quite a bit for my investments and what they do is primarily just paperwork. But there must be some more exciting things there than just those smucks opening bank accounts and filling out swift codes.

I used to work in Mauritius and I have never been there. Yep. I needed a business card with a company official registered address for a visa to some third country, so I did those cards with Mauritius mailbox on it. That was pretty cool.

Looked into it a few times. Can’t comment on the types of jobs, but by all accounts life on the Caymans: - it’s expensive - it gets boring after a while apparently (which I found surprising) - it’s expensive - it’s expensive
