CFA and fund management/equity research job ??

i am lost big time guys. i have done mba in finance specialisation and dont have any prior work experience. i know this will sound really stupid but i am badly confused regarding where should i apply for jobs. i know there are mutual funds, brokerages, investment banks, kpo and bpo etc but i am unable to find any suitable entry level jobs for finance or atleast finance related thing. Once you are out of the college and unable to get a job through placement, it becomes really difficult to choose your own career path outside. i have come across this job in fund management. its an accounting job and i am planning to take level1 this december. so my question is, will cfa be useful if i take that accounting job? same for the equity research thing ? serious answers please. many thanks…any other advice will be appreciated

I think you should take it. Bad job > no job.

no it won’t be useful. and keep in mind the point of living is not a career. you need to calm down

CFA is very relevant for Equity Research. As far as the accounting job is concerned I think that CFA will still be quite relevant. That is because its a fund management company and thus the main operations of the company is actually related to the CFA program. Also, despite the fact that you will be in accounting you will be able to see the CFA concepts being applied all around you. Bottom line is that you should take the job and pursue CFA level 1. That is unless you have a better idea.
