below is MIT’s microeconomics 101 first exam as of 2011… harder or easier than level I, or II, or III?
harder than the economics part and in no way comparable to any of the levels
I know the level I’s economics part is not that difficult, I was wondering about the other levels…iteracom… why troll?
Haven’t clicked the link yet, but I’m assuming it’s not a 6 hour exam with ~40% pass rate.
… okay, just clicked it, the first question is a true/false
questioning the content of economics compared to the content of the CFA economics content… not really comparing time and pass rates… especially as anybody can sign up for the CFA and a selection process happens before you can take an MIT exam… anyway… is there no relevancy between any part of the CFA and this MIT exam?

I took a quick glance at the test and I see most of the topics are covered in the level 1 test. Consumer budget, indifference curves, elasticity, market equilibrium, inverse demand curves, utility functions, income/substitution effects. That is a fairly basic microeconomics test but that test will be more difficult than the cfa level 1 because it requires drawing graphs and explanations, whereas the cfa is just multiple choice.
That MIT test might look complicated to someone with no economics background, but I assure you with a couple of days of study they could easily pass it.
the test looks pretty standard for an intro to econ course.
DMV road test… harder, easier, or same as getting to your testing center for CFA level I, II or III?
Not a knock against OP, I’m just losing my mind this close to June 2nd.
This test can’t really be compared to a CFA exam. In college, time management is a big issue. If you had unlimited time to study for the MIT test, then sure, I bet you would do great. However, most likely, you would have a bunch of other (more difficult) classes, plus several more exams crammed into the same week. MIT students are very busy! They often do not have several days to dedicate to a single exam.
okay guys. I was mainly wondering if the material was more mentally taxing than the CFA material. But I guess you guys cant just answer that question. Instead you all have to bring up how they aren’t comparable and name off some obvious differences between the two tests… great… nice job, each of you must be the smartest guy in the room. If I’m ever wondering if the MIT exam and the CFA are different in any way I’ll be sure to consult this thread…
Chief, you ask if it was harder or easier, not which is more mentally taxing. Obviously people are going to compare the CFA exams to this test.
Grow a pair instead sounding like a whiny bitch. If you are a Level 1 candidate, you should be more worried about the exam on June 2nd instead of this pointless thread.

MrZ comes in with the bslap
At first you say…
"questioning the content of economics compared to the content of the CFA economics content …… not really comparing time and pass rates…"
"below is MIT’s microeconomics 101 first exam as of 2011… harder or easier than level I, or II, or III?"
but then…
"okay guys. I was mainly wondering if the material was more mentally taxing than the CFA material. But I guess you guys cant just answer that question"
gtfo.
Definitely harder than level 1 and 2. I haven’t taken the 3rd yet, so I’m not sure.
Let me know if you have any other tests to compare!
Harder or easier for whom?
ya which is harder? which is more mentally taxing? not how long does it take to complete or what are the completely irrelevant pass rate statistics…
