CFA in signature, is this acceptable

Is it acceptable to display your credentials as such in your email signature:

Joe Shmoe

Manager, Chartered Financial Analyst

Or must it be:

Joe Shmoe, CFA

Manager

I believe only the second. There is no such thing as a Chartered Financial Analyst; only a Chartered Financial Analyst Charterholder.

John Doe, CFA

is how it should read. Any charterholder should look at

“Manager, Chartered Financial Analyst”

and think that you weren’t paying attention.
