I am sitting for CFA L1 this december.I have already passed 2 levels of FRM and i am currently in final year of my MBA.
Till now i have read Schweser notes (all 5 books once ) ,solved the schweser question bank pro once.
Just 3 days ago i started taking full syllabus mock tests of 120 questions (two times a day ) from schweser question bank pro.My scores for six full syllabus exams that i took till now are 84%,83%,81%,84%,82% and 81% respectively.
My average score section wise were:
Ethics:65-73 percent
Quant:85 to 90 %
Economics:80 to 85%
FRA :65 to 75%
Corporate finance:80 to 87%
Portfolio management :85 to 90%
Equity :82 to 88%
Fixed income/Derivate :80 to 85%
Alternate investment :70 to 78%
Since only 50 days are left for the exams ,i plan to go through schweser(notes/practice volume) once more after i complete taking atleast 20 to 25 mocks of similar type from schweser questionbank pro….so is this much sufficient to pass CFAL1 in my 1st attempt this december???or should i look at CFA institiute notes too???please adivce ……how to improve my scores on ethics and FRA???..are questions in scheweser question bank pro similar to real exam questions???...pls advice…
You are following a good track here you need to do regular practice and clear your concepts only for the exam purpose and try to do more & more practice for the exam day.
Dada! Itna fight maarenge to L3 nikalne mei zyada time nai hai…4 saal mei do do designation. Respect Bro.
On a serious note, the guy who answered your question is a charterholder. I am ssuming he/she holds some place in the industry. Don’t use “Bro” for such people. Consider it a tip for your summer school/ summer prep.
You might want to show some respect to these people who are helping you out for free. I know you can leverage anonymity and nobody would ever give an F about your conversation here, but it’s always good to show respect to people who are senior to you. Please don’t get me wrong here. Your country is “India”. I believe you are representing your country on this forum (loosely put). Let people know you for good reasons. People form opinion about others. Let them be on a brighter side.
I understood it when you typed it the first time. Sorry for the “gyan baji”. As far as L1 is concerned, you don’t need any advice. You are already there. Though I’d take your reply as a disrespect, but considering your case here, it looks like you are working very very very hard and with this amount of hard work, frustration is bound to be there. You can leverage anonymity here. If you have the balls, do this at your first interview. I am sure you’ll get a shortlist. We’ll see who calls the shots then.
BTW, like I said, nobody gives an F whether you call them sir/bro or whatever you wish to…
P.S. extremely sorry, if you felt that was an “intellectual debate”. Just out of curiosity, which B-school? I hope I deserve a reply for my “advice”.
"“As far as L1 is concerned, you don’t need any advice. You are already there.”-iska matlab kya hei??wht does this mean??pls explain clearly I am not answerable to any questions of yours “sir”…,regarding my B school it is not in the top “5 or 10”…it is quite obvious that CFA/FRM can make up for “not being in top 5 schools”…I am not showing my frustration here!!!I was just curious to know about my progress (for cfa l1)till now…and i am not focusing on “job interviews” right now…1st i want to clear atleast CFAl2… Thanks(sorry if u felt disrespected)
Thanks for that link. Makes me remember that incident. Thought I’ll give you a heads up on that. I thought I went over the top while talking about the education system in India. Then, I realized that many people might not take it easilyand I might end up sounding like a snob. Moreover, I am overwhelmed by a few people on AF, who have helped me think in a new direction altogether and I am indebted to them. (Yes, all this in an anonymous, virtual world). And FYI, they did not buy me a Ferrari…They helped me with my queries, just in case, you were wondering as to why am I indebted to them cuz you don’t seem indebted to anyone…you know what? I think I need to stop replying to your queries(read somthing-that-is-easily-googleable and something-which-is-already-there-on-AF-in-plenty)…And you are going to make a perfect career in finance because I saw a lot of rude and arrogant people in my summer school internship. That doesn’t mean all of them are, but I can say that you’ll find your kiths and kins soon. You see birds of the same feather flock together. Wow, that rhymes
You’ll find those birds soon. Oh, and if this arrogance comes out of your curiosity…I think curiosity kills the cat sometimes. You might want to keep that in mind the next time you talk to me. I am gonna cut you loose here because you seem over excited right now. Talk to me when you are in the ground state. In fact, please don’t talk to me. That would be a huge favor. Still reading? I think you need to go, drink your alphabet soup before it turns cold. PERIOD.
Listen you started all “nonsense” on this post when you started giving me advice on “moral issues”,it would have been so better had you just given me some input on your preparation for CFA l1,as we both are L1 candidate.Instead you decided to "advice me "on unwanted things.Regarding my alphabet soup,it is mine and only mine ,it is upto me wether to drink it or throw it ,you are not here to advice me.Please donot talk me TO me from now or reply any where in my any other post.India is full of people with inferior complex and that we all know .
1 month before the exam day, cfainstitute will send a mock exam in your mail (or on web i dont remember exactly), its nearly the same level to the real exam, try to get over 70% of it and u’ll feel better. I dont think schweser has the same level to the real one.
