CFA Level 3 for 3 months

Hey guys,

I would like to ask if it is possible to pass CFA Level 3 if you will be studying it for 3 months? 0.5 month part time study and 2.5 months full time study?

ofcourse

Yes absolutely. It’s all depends on the individual. Be confident about it- it’ll help when things get tough.

If anything, 2.5 months of “full time study” is kind of overkill.

Depends on what you mean by “full-time study”. I don’t know if it’s possible to study 8-9 hours a day, five days a week. At least not good, quality study.

I liken studying to running (loosely). A half hour or an hour per day is good. If you only do it 3 days per week, maybe you can go 2 hours. But I doubt anybody can run 8 hours a day, five or six days per week.

Good analogy! Was thinking of putting in a request at work for taking some of my unused vacation to study for L2 and thought more than one week off in March might not be the best use of time…just can’t decide b/c I’m really struggling to focus on studying after the tiring day at work and can’t get much done on weekends…hoping the stupid countdown on top of this page will “hit” me soon…

not enough unless you have some great luck

prove me wrong when you pass.

but remember me when you fail.

Agreed

I just started studying a bit over a week ago, I have a job, and am planning on passing. The # of months don’t really matter too much IMO (based on my experience with the first 2 levels). It’s just how many QUALITY hours of studying you get in.

If you don’t have to work, you could actually keep a very balanced lifestyle. Excercise, study for 4 hours, cook, hang out with friends, pursue other hobbies etc.
