Cfa membership and maintaining

Hey guys the cfa website doesnt seem very organized regardin this: 1. Are you a member if u passed level1 of the three exams? 2. If the answer to above question is yes, will i have to pay annual membership fees? This seems confusing to me because: member = registered in the cfa website? Or member = cfa charterholder? From the ethics part of level1 exam, i would say that a member is a charterhilder, but i want to make sure…

Nvm i got it it’s charterholders

Well, you can be a member if you are not a charterholder. CFAI seems to encourage you to become a member once you have passed Level 2 and have the required work experience (although you can join as an “affiliate” without all of the work experience and only Level 1 of the test passed). Among other things, having your work experience already approved for membership should speed up the process of getting your charter once you pass Level 3.
