The organization that administers the CFA exam was known as the AIMR until 2004. By the time they decided to change their name to the CFA Institute, www.cfa.org was long gone. www.cfa.org has been used continuously by the Cat Fanciers’ Association since 2003, and by various other groups on-and-off since at least 1996. I am surprised the CFAI hasn’t bought the domain from the Cat Fanciers’ Association though.
