CFA practice exams

Is anyone buying practice exams directly from the CFA Institute? If you know of anyone who bought them in the past, please let me know if you have heard positive responses.

I purchased two of them last year for L1 and found the questions to be very representative of the real exam.

Do it. The practice questions aren’t necessarily predictors of what will be on the exam, but they accurately give you the feel for what to expect. They are definitely indicative of the kinds of smoke & mirrors you will encounter. But above all, don’t be lulled into thinking that the topics on the practice tests will be what you see. I plan on doing the mock exam about two weeks before the test.

Agree.

Concur.

anyone got try the new mock exam by CFAI? i was wondering if it is 3 hours per paper does that mean that we have to sit infront of computer and finished it within 3 hours without any break?

the cfa practice exams are very good representative. for level 1 I actually thought they were harder than the actual exam

Indeed, I remember sweating through one of them and scoring 65% where on exam day I felt really comfortable with the stuff they wanted me to answer.

why not taking one sample exam if it comes free with registration? you cannot go wrong on this one… http://www.cfainstitute.org/cfaprog/resources/sampleandmockexams.html

You also might want to check out this page. It looks like he has 2000,2001,2002,2003, and 2004 sample exams for LII. The sample exams look fairly authentic and they are all in essay format (which LII used to be). http://www.tomcfa.com/cfa/testbank/index_2.html
