Hello every one, 1. Did you get the CFA random survey last year for CFA Level 1 or CFA Level 2 ? 2. Did you pass the exam last year ? I didn’t get the survey but i passed level 1. I got the survey from level 2. am just trying to figure out if there is a pattern… Thanks.
I dont think there is a pattern, because you receive the survey also before the exam and I also cant think the cfai is looking for some biased sample in comparison to the whole population, this would cause the results to be meaningless
I recieved the survey 10-15 days after the exam, not before the exam.
I received one before and one after… so that they have comparisons…
But anyway, I dont think, that cfai is asking more fail or pass people. if the want to have some stat how failed people answered some questions, the can still exclude the passes. but they will ask people of a represantive sample, than they still got every option open
Does anyone know if the survey is used in any way when establishing the MPS?
there was nothing on the survey that they could possibly use to set the MPS, so without knowing, I would say 100% “No way in hell”. What could they possibly use? “Uh-oh, everyone thought the Port. management questions were out of left field. Better toss them.” That makes no sense, because they can infer the same thing by a random sample of test papers.
Well, I didn’t receive the survey on Level I and I passed…received it after Level II and failed…didn’t get it this time. Hopefully, the correlation is 100% for me.
I didnt get the survey last year and passed. THis year I got it and I know I’ll fail. There is a correlation!
I didn’t get the survey in Dec07 and I passed Level 1. Didn’t get it this time either. That said, I can’t imagine that there would be a correlation. If anything, maybe if you did poorly on one section they want to know why. If you use the extreme example, if someone scored 100% on the exam, they probably wouldn’t ask that person why they thought the test was difficult. Probably wouldn’t ask the top 1% either. Fun to speculate, but we will never really know.
get a grip people

Well, since the survey is given out before the pass/fail grades are determined, a real correlation would have to be a magical act of a time-traveling god.
That tim-traveling god is also known as CFAI.
