I would have to say MBA from top 5 business school crushes the CFA. I don’t even think it’s close. Every one of the MD’s/senior managers at my firm graduated from one of the top 5 colleges. Coincidence? I don’t think so. They all stick 2gether like a bunch of rats.
what schools are usually considered top 5? i know the group in the top 10 bracket but not sure which ones usually fall at the top

If the CFAI could build their network to have the majors recruit RECENT charterholders, that would be AMAZING. but right now, the nod goes to Top 5 because they actively look for companies to hire their graduates.
Not really too sure just know that I didn’t graduate from one lol. Harvard, Princeton, Yale and Stanford I would assume are in the top 4. I still think the CFA is worth getting and is very valuable but it’s only good for Asset Management. I’m a lvl 3er (sounds great to say that), so I obviously think it’s valuable otherwise I wouldn’t be doing it. With that said though, an MBA from a top flight school could open up doors in any industry. Some people say that the MBA only gets you in the door but I sadly disagree (I say sadly because I didn’t graduate from a top school lol). I think these top firms want people from top schools running their departments. Just looks better, at least to them. Whatever, I have to deal with the cards delt to me. I’m graduting from an ok school with a Master degree in Accounting. Gonna get the CPA, so hopefully the CPA, CFA combination will be enough to take me to wherever path I want my career to go. Besides, I don’t have 100k to drop on a Wharton Business school. Woe is me
Princeton has hardly any MBA alum. Very poor network.

Geeze a guy can’t even pick on JP_RL_CFA’s response to THACHARTER’s question sarcastically these days!
havent been on here in a while…see not much has changed lol…
I was just naming top schools not necessarily top schools with MBA programs but I can see how my response could have been taken the wrong way. Sup Skip?? Yup the CFA vs. MBA question…again lol
so no one got the point of this post?
I auto assume any youtube links w/o expl are nsfw.
The link does not work
