CFA WORK EXPERIENCE from a variety of jobs in Investment decision making processes

Hi

Does these count toward CFA work experience?

  1. Valuation of Private Companies 2. Independent research on a certain industry sector for financial investment(eg - pharma, realestate, tech, etc)

  2. Valuation and analysis for mergers and acquisition deal 4. Financial Adviser to retail clients for choosing capital market investments 5. Investment Analyst and Advisor for Institutional Investors - PRIVATE EQUITY 6. Venture Capital Analyst - Valuation of start-ups, growth projection, financial forecast, etc

All of the above and other job functions include valuation, financial analysis and modelling, growth projection, financial forecasting, and buy-sell recommendations Even if they are not directly involved with “publicly traded and privately placed stocks, bonds, and mortgages and their derivatives; commodity-based derivatives and mutual funds; and other investment assets, such as real estate and commodities, if these are held as part of a diversified, securities-oriented investment portfolio”. This portion,

  • “Evaluating or applying financial, economic, and/or statistical data as part of the investment decision-making process involving securities or similar investments (e.g., publicly traded and privately placed stocks, bonds, and mortgages and their derivatives; commodity-based derivatives and mutual funds; and other investment assets, such as real estate and commodities, if these are held as part of a diversified, securities-oriented investment portfolio).”

is no longer shown in the cfa website, instead it just shows "At least four years (48 months) of experience in:

  • Evaluating or applying financial, economic, and/or statistical data as part of the investment decision-making process; supervising persons who conduct such activities; or teaching such activities.

For a position to qualify, at least 50% of your time should be spent directly involved in the investment decision-making process or producing a work product that informs or adds value to that process. Work must be full time and can be earned before, during, or after participation in the CFA Program. Managing your own investments or the investments of your family or friends (without compensation) does not qualify."

So has the guideline changed? And the job functions I mentioned and described, will they count towards work experience requirement without being directly related to " publicly traded stocks, bonds, and mortgages and their derivatives; commodity-based derivatives and mutual funds; and other investment assets, such as real estate and commodities, if these are held as part of a diversified, securities-oriented investment portfolio" ?

Thanks in advance guys!
