Hi All,
I’m hoping I could get some opinions on my work experience. I’ve been working in credit risk modelling for the commercial and corporate segment of my bank for the last 3 years. My job scope generally involves reviewing the credit risk models (PD and LGD), and making refinements where necessary.
We also do development/re-development of models but that is not a common event as we are a subsidiary and most of that is done at group level - I did however, get the opportunity to participate in the development of a behavioural scorecard the previous year.
I could probably relate some of the study material to my work - quantitative methods, accounting and risk management chapters. But as to whether my work contributes to the investment decision process is a little bit ambiguous, I think.
I notice that CFAI does mention ‘working with risk management functions, assisting clients in developing and refining statistically based credit risk models covering a diverse range of portfolios.’ as acceptable work experience on their website - but what do you guys think? Do I qualify? Or should I start looking for another job?
Feedback highly appreciated. Thanks!
