CFA work experience

Have any of you obtained your charter with part of your experience hours coming from audit experience? Based on the guidance on the CFA website audit hours can be used, but there appears to be some grey around what relevant audit experience is. All they provide as a useable example is “audited financial of companies that have assets and liabilities subject to fair value measurement”.

Thoughts?

I am pretty sure you can use your audit hours, they are really not that strict, as long as your manager approves your work experience (ie, you are not lying about what you do).

I’d rather have the Institute reduce the number of months required for valid work experience but be more strict when it comes to what is considered acceptable work experience. Audit just doesn’t make sense.
