CFA1 Syllabus - How much does it change every year?

Hi,

I guess it depends year on year but how much does the syllabus change for CFA level 1?

I can’t see the contents changing dramatically… Does anyone know how it has been in the past?

Regards,

About 5% to 20% on average.

There is no fix percentage of change but it has been correctly bounded by S2000magician.

In my opinion the curriculum doesn’t change that much - just some pages, but nothing much. There’s quite a lot of details in this guide I read (link - http://www.timeprep.me/free-ibook-guide-for-cfa-exam/) … It’s extensive and really detailed so check it out

I got hard copy books from 2012 to get a feel for the exam before I register before second deadline for 2015. Can I assume it would serve the purpose?

No, too much outdated.

I went through the chapters and authors and found them to be the same. I can see some things would be updated every year but I assume the fundamentals and most things wouldn’t change much. Am I completely wrong?

Does anyone know if there are any changes to the CFA 1 December 2015 syllabus compared to the last CFA 1 June 2015? Thanks

You can check it on the CFAI webpage. Go to CFA Programs, in the “Learn” box on the botton select “Explore the course of study topic areas”, then on Program course of Study box select “Study sessions, LOS, and Errata” and check how the sessions are right now compared to last past date.

Many thanks Harrogath. Much appreciated.
