Hi, is anyone aware that apparently CFAI awards certificates of merit for all levels if you are among the first 50 in the world? Was a bit surpirsed when I heard this because I thought they didn´t rank!
They don’t. It’s bollocks.
Yeah, they specifically state on the website that they don’t.
years ago they used to recognize the top 1% I think - then they canned it. Either you know the stuff or you don’t - it doesn’t matter if you took 3 shots or 10. It’s hard enough to get through all 3 levels. Getting the piece of paper speaks volumes. But whether there is a finance industry left to use it in is a different story altogether…
If they did award “Certificates of Merit” it would be against the code of ethics .
