From my own experience: level 1 -received survey and passed; level 2 -received survey and failed. From my understanding, if you recieve a survey you fit a requirment for the survey. MPS is not set up yet and no one has an idea either you passed or not.
i got a post exam survey today and the questions in the survey are hard to answer…
I think this is a good policy to avoid cheating regarding there are different time zones among all the test takers. If CFA Institute allows test takers leave earlier then it is possible they can tell their friends who take the test in another country the questions showing up in the test.
You probably scored 95+ in the exam so they sent you a tough survey to confirm your capabilities.
I feel uncomfortable talking about the questions showing up in the test even with CFAI.
Wow this guy really doesn’t know what the **** he is talking about. And yet continues to run his mouth on multiple threads. First line of the survey email: “As you know, you have been randomly selected to participate in this year’s pre- and post- exam candidate surveys.”
Hey Peter - what does randomly selected mean? In all my studying I must have forgotten this simple concept. I wouldn’t believe another word that comes out of this guys mouth. This email doesn’t mean jack and CFAI says such. If you didn’t recieve the email then guess what - you have the same shot at passing as the rest of us.
Nobody called me and I left my details for this survey. Should I be worried? What says Peter the 13th?

I made some legitimate attempts to help him out (really, to help others who might have believed him) before I decided he might be a troll. Oh well.
I received the survey today and after filling it out, was informed that I had passed the exam and could register for the next exam. After registering for the next exam, the CFA refused my payment, and instead sent me $850 and informed me that they look forward to taking my exam in December. I must’ve nailed that survey
I admit that i was deceived at first, maybe the combination of anxiety and the fact that other AFers in the beginning also believed him played a big role, and thank God for Tickersu who brought me back to my senses.
Got it today. I am hoping they dont send the surveys out to the ones who passed earlier.
I feel like they are randomly selecting people within a stratified sample. This is just my hunch.
Like each band or range of marks get surverys on a particular day.
I think that would make sense as well.
Received the survey this night. Guess they are knowing the results already, so hopefully i’m randomly picked from the pass sample 
I didn’t received pre n post exam survey in 2014 when i took level 1 in december 2014 n passed the exam, n sat for june level 2 in 2015 n received pre n post exam survey email and i failed with band 10

The fact there are candidates who continue to believe that the surveys are sent out in order of pass / fail completely baffles me. I hope you didn’t use the same logic on the test. Actually, I hope you did, it would make me feel a lot better about my chances of passing. Peter13 should be banned/put in the penalty box for constantly pushing this nonsense, trolling or not, as people continue to fall for his guise and he subsequently just modifies / deletes his post. He’s not positively contributing to the board, just cause unnecessary angst in people too dense/naive to realize he’s trolling.
It began with his 4-5 topics that he created immediately after the test that, if reported to the Institute would be in clear violations of the Standards. The sad thing is others have now created similar threads, one of which was started within the last couple of days, that continue to violate the Standards. As of late, he has transitioned to spewing nonsense about the fact that people received emails is a sure sign that they passed. I’m not sure if the guy lacks confidence in his exam and is trying to make a mockery of the whole process, or what, but it is getting old.

But quite sure they have already scanned the documents and know how much you have scored. I’m asking why they are sending the survey out 3weeks after the exam. I can’t even remember which topics were easy or hard. They should send out the survey the day after the exam to get a reliable answer
