Chicago Business Fellows - MBA

anyone ever apply to this subset of their part-time MBA program? It’s for working professionals with 3 or less years of experience.

Interesting Name, care to share how you came up with it?

I agree - very interesting program. But requires a job in the Chicago-area (if memory serves), which sadly I do not possess. And considering the current job mkt in finance in the US, not really liking my chances of getting one.

I’m approaching 3 yrs so this round will be my only shot at this program unfortunately.

That’s too bad, as it would seem to fit pretty well with what you are looking for in an MBA and the restrictions of your MBA financing situation. Good luck with the application!

Having a second look at the details of the program now, and it sure sounds interesting, that would be if I found an employer that was cool with me doing it right from the get-go. Kind of sucks to hire someone for only 80% of their time/effort while they do a part-time MBA. And then there’s the cost…

You need to find a firm that is supportive of and encourages their employees to get the MBA. That’s your best bet for success.

Yea that would be nice. Talking the gf into being cool with me applying to Chi-town jobs is the first step… she’s not a big fan of midwest winters.

two of my friends are in it. pretty tough to get in as they only accpet like 30 people. Most are in some kind of analyst program at a chicago area firm NT, B1, ABN, GE-Credit etc etc My two friends are pretty top notch… so I would guess the stats are no different then regular full time.

I don’t think its any harder to get into than the regular evening program. In fact, I think its a bit easier but not by much.

You should just get 1 more year of work exp and then apply for the regular part-time program. It’s probably more difficult to get into this “fellows” program than the regular part-time program.
