Interesting article.
Should it be a surprise that people who are smarter, more responsible, more articulate, and more educated, should be better at both careers and parenting?
Edit: Although, maybe there is such thing as over doing this. My former neighbor, who was some PhD dude, was reading the US constitution out loud to his kid. That kid might turn out a bit…
like george bush’s parents? XD
I had a similar discussion with my parents not too long ago. I asked them why they focused so much on my athletics vs acedemics growing up. I also discussed with with my friends from Darien / Greenwich who attended Green Farms Academy where we compared hs grades (i was straight A at a shitty hs and they were b students at a blue ribbon private school).
Depends on when you do it. At 12 my daughter and I were discussing economics, how taxes work, and a lot of other advanced stuff on our bike rides (we’d go for almost an hour on a bike path, and we had to talk about something). And by 4 she knows much of the Constitution by heart. It’s all in how you do it - many topics can be fun if done right.
Of course, this could be why professors’ kids turn out so weird.
Those Jews with their ballet classes and Hebrew school. Oy vay!
Just like in real life, no one wants to hear about your kids.
Now, my kids, on the other hand, are not only geniuses but also model-worthy attractive. At only four years of age, my son has already dated and broken up with Taylor Swift. She decided he’s way too good for her and instead of writing a song bashing him, she’s dedicating her next album to him.

Nice.
Sweep - if your son continues to improve, he might be ready for my daughter in about 10 years.
I my dog was on welfare when I got him, and he’s recently cured canine cancer and is using the proceeds to cure canine hunger. I believe the latter is probably a futile fight, but it goes to show that it’s not always where you come from.

Well played.

Unlikely. After years of begging, my son has agreed to contract terms with NASA to be the first person on Mars. He’s ready to go now, but NASA keeps saying they’re about 10 years away from solving the radiation problem. Not that this would affect my son. He’s developed a way to absorb ultra-high levels of radiation and turn it into Campbell’s Chunky Clam Chowder. Still, safety first over there at NASA.
Ok, the part where the kids are supposed to bang brought this to creepy town.
^ Just everyday discussion for our Indian friends here.
