I completed the CFA program a few years ago and I am looking for the next thing to keep me motivated. I’m interested in the CMT program. Does anyone have experience or insight with this program? How is it relative to the CFA program in difficulty and time requirement?
Just googled it, its Chartered Market Technician for certification of competency of technical analysis. I have little trust in technical analysis and I would rather consider other well known programs instead of CMT. What other programs have you looked at?
It seems most people with CMTs already have their CFAs so I’ll probably strive for that once I get the CFA (still a long way to go right now.) It’s probably only helpful in, say, Trading but if anyone wants to beg to differ, I’m open.
I’ve had it for years, much much easier than CFA. I’m not sure it’s worth it though. It’s good to know the concepts, but I don’t think there is a big market for it, not that I even tried it for a job, but just my general impression.
