I’m playing through WW2 campaign. It’s the same old CoD which is great but I’ve also gotten older (which is less great). I find my video game libido has gone down in general in the last few years (life, work, women). Graphics look great, interface is smooth, very playable. Zombie mode maps are also interesting from what I can see. Might get it for Xbox multiplayer experience. And before you say it RawRaw, Battlefield is best enjoyed on PC where the real nerds play.
I am thinking of getting an Xbox for my new tv over christmas… does anyone think the new Xbox is worth the money over the S?
I’m old enough to have played the original medal of honour and call of duty games. those were before multiplayer became the product and single player was actually the main focus. I would say COD World at War, MW1, MW2 campaigns were highly enjoyable and maybe worthwhile to revisit, as the controls are relatively modern and gameplay/graphics are not vastly outdated.
I haven’t bought a CoD game in years. I’d love for one to come out that was as good as they used to be. I haven’t bought a good multiplayer game in a long time.
in Multi? No - you wouldn’t be playing on level terms, there’s no way you can beat a kid on mouse or joystick in terms of target acquisition and reflexes… not to mention it would be mad strenuous and you wouldn’t be able to play nearly as many matches. They also haven’t sorted out the movement (strafing etc) in a playable way. I’m staying away from VR for now, though these factors would be negated if everyone was on the same input platform. That’s my view from the competitive gaming standpoint. Otherwise I think it’d be great for Single Player just for the novelty and realism of it all. I remember the launch of Virtual Boy so what they are working on these days is truly exciting. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Virtual_Boy
Yea I think by default it’d only make sense if all players loaded into a match were using the VR equipment. I think at the current juncture of VR game development, I don’t think you could host a match where there is a mix of analog control players and VR players.
Edit: I don’t think there are any VR multi-player games out yet?
Don’t think so either, but I made the assumption that the platforms would be cross-border or VR add ons to xbox games since the adoption rate will be slow and there’s nothing worse in multiplayer than having 64 person servers that aren’t full. I think thats fair given that more than 50-60% of avid gamers are 25 and below and most won’t have the level of free cash flow to buy a VR only or add-on system for 4-500 separately, or 2-300 as an add on. So
