Coffee during test?

Does anyone know, either from experience or from the CFA website…Are we allowed to take in a thermos of coffee to drink to keep us alert or just one bottle of water and that is it?

you cant bring water or coffee in. there will be water stations available during the exam. -doc vN

No, you’re not allowed bring any personal items, including drinks. But testing areas do have water coolers all over the testing sections for you to drink. You might not want to drink too much since you might end up taking frequent restroom breaks. I recall seeing two exam proctors in the restroom, watching your every move !!! Very uncomfortable experience, but this did not affect my test result  Currently studying for L2 exam.

It’s a pain if you need to go to the restroom in the middle of the exam. You are allowed, but 5 min in the restroom could mean 5 less questions answered…

yeah - you can’t have any liquids or containers remotely near the exam tables. the watercoolers are separated from the exam tables. the CFAI challenges candidates in several ways 1. Learning the information 2. Spitting out 4 months of info in two 6 hour exam sessions 3. Spitting out all this knowledge while enduring forced dehydration Very cruel, right?

So cruel. Watch how they’ll make us stand while writing the tests in the coming years

Mega-Pro Caffeine Alert 200mg’s of caffeine… all you need.

Psychologists suggest that you take a test in similar circumstances/mindset as when you studied. If you are going to take a caffeine pill during the exam, make sure you have at least studied some in that mindset (may have a slightly different kick/feeling than a regular cup of coffee).

That’s how I get through my days… waking up at 4 to go to the gym, followed by work, then class, then studying… only way to do it.

Lazy - I wake up 20hrs earlier than that to get my day started . . .
