Companies needing restructuring services?

Hi all, I was wondering if you are given a list of 100 companies and you have to figure out who will need debt restructuring service, how will you go about this? Many thanks S

That means that the CDS market should be your first filter.

That means that > the CDS market should be your first filter. Depends on what he means by debt restructuring. Companies can make a voluntary offer and not trip CDS. There have been several examples of that this year; reduce principal, extend out maturities, etc… But its technically just an exchange, so not a CDS event. But yes, looking at names trading well into pts up front is probably a decent place to start your screening.

So, does it mean doing credit analysis for companies? What does restructuring mean? I guess helping companies in financial distress/bankruptcy? Or does it mean adjusting capital structure or divesting business etc as well? Thanks S
