Does anyone have a suggestion or two on a good book/website that explains the concept of various statistical calculations, in a real world use? I understand the basics, but have a hard time remembering them without “mental images” of their use, and in turn can’t build off of them to more complex (to me) ideas. I’m talking standard deviation, correlation, etc. on up to regressions, etc. Any help is appreciated. Although I won’t necessarily use them for investing, as I’m more qualatative value, I do want to understand the different approaches and underpinnings of basic quant. Thanks for any help.
CFAI textbooks for LI and II come to mind. I find the explanations in there very transparent, lots of applied examples with practical focus, minimum unnecessary theory
