Conceptual vs. Computational

I have a friend here at work that took L1 December 2006 and he remembered the test being heavily weighted with calculations. If I remember correctly, I thought it was mentioned somewhere on the AF site that L1 is more conceptual than computational… I’m finding that the Schweser practice tests have more calculations than the CFA sample exams… Any thoughts?

Level I in Dec 07 was very conceptual. I didn’t do any Schweser exams because I heard they were overly computational and didn’t regret my decision.

So sometimes it is, other times it isn’t?

I doubt. Each sample exam suggests that CFA exams are conceptual.
