Confusion about exams

Hello Guys,

I am new to this FRM forum even though I follow CFA forum every day… Somehow i got exposed to FRM fand I was interested in doing it. I plan to write my CFA level I exam on june 2012 and then give my FRM on Nov. But as i was going through the forums i didnt understand about exam part 1 and exam part 2. Everyone said that they passed FRM full on nov but does that mean that you have to take level 1 and level 2 exam on the same day? how does the exam schedule works? Or is it something like you take level 1 exam(paying $650) on nov 2012 and then take level 2 on nov 2013 paying $650 again? How does this work? Any help will be highly appreciated!

The exam used to be a single exam covering all the sylabus. However GARP slpit the exam into 2 Parts a couple of years ago. You can sit Part 1 and 2 on the same day but I don’t get the feeling that many do this, I was th only one in my test center doing it that way, there were 10 others for Part 1 in the morning and another 10 for Part 2 in the afternoon. It is doable to pass both exams at the same time but it adds a bit to the task. Also should you sit both exams you MUST pass Part 1 before they will mark the Part 2 paper

So if i take FRM part one in one day can i take Part 2 on some other day of same month or it has to be on same day? If thats not the case do i have to wait a year to write part 2 exam?

It’s the same day. Part 1 is 08:00 - 12:00 and Part 2 14:00 - 18:00
