My boss just began a two week vacation last friday but just called to ask me what my results were. He thought they were released on saturday. I’m guessing he’s going to call again tomorrow and add to my grief if I fail.
spranga, your boss took the exams before? i just hate thoese who never were part of the program being nosy. Thats the worst
My clients are pretty good, meaning well wishers actually… They text me or send me a message on FB or whatzapp.
As with my boss, he doesnt even know what CFA is or doesnt care about it - which is good compared to what Spranga5 has to undergo. Good luck spranga5!
To all the level III candidates getting their results tomorrow, I wish you the best of luck! It probably is pretty annoying getting your results after all the rest of us have partied, but I’m grateful to those who’ve given helpful answers on this forum despite that. AF has a good percent of passes so I’m hoping to see the same this year! Keeping my fingers crossed for you all…
No he never took the exams and from what I gather he believes the exams are diffcult but not that tough. He always mentions that given the state of the world, the CFA curriculum is outdated. But the worst part is his “don’t worry, you’ll pass…it’s not that tough” attitude. I’m not sure if he’d make it to level 3 if he did the program. Oh I forgot…I failed both 2011 and 2012 but weeks before the 2013 exam he says “you better pass this time”. Thanks for relieving the pressure boss man.
@ sooraj : somehow I have an intuition since long that you will pass… so don’t worry
^ “You better pass” - thats **** attitude man, especially for a man who hasnt gone through the grind…
Good luck mate!
Very happy man if it happens, thanks man… Very best wishes to you
If you live in Chennai or come to chennai, I owe you a drink (irrespective of my result)
Thanks bro. Good luck to you and everyone else. I always say the CFA program is like being in prison. You’re always happy when one of your prison mates get paroled. It’s like a victory for everyone.
Yeah spanga. Then again if i didnt get on the program. I might have thought the same. Some compare this to acca. Annoying.
Here is my take after spending too much time analyzing past results and talking to folks who made it
-
If you did not have a big mishap, you probably passed. think of a mishap as layin eggs on multiple essay questions or have very little faith in what you actually put down there. Or making too many guesstimates on the afternoon session. This AM session was unusually long too apparently.

If you did not take enough practice exams and cant tell if you laid eggs, then god bless ya.

Luck will be pivotal for all except a chosen few. Good luck to all!
I am really bracing myself to not be super heartbroken if I miss out. Its only a test but one mfer which took 3 months of my awesome life.
Best of luck
My issue is that you need to KILL the PM to pass because AM is so hard. I thought it was easier than AM, but I don’t think I slayed it like TRH was doing in the banya this weekend.
I am still in disagreement that the AM was the great big red dragon guarding the treasure. It wasn’t as hard to slay as everyone said. I thought it was fairly easy, especially when compared to the 2012 AM exam.
.
I feel the same. Was suprised to see the vast majority thought it was so difficult. That being said, NOW I’m nervous for tomorrow, after being (relatively) stress free since June 1.
Grr… anxiety didn’t kick in whatsoever until last night, but now is running rampant today.
Second time taker here. Felt much more prepared this time around, and was Band 10 last year. With that being said, you NEVER know with these damn exams. And now the thought of dedicating a 4th year to this process when I could’ve gotten an MBA in two years is a little discomforting and leading to negative thinking. Especially since I’ve sort of grown in the corporate finance role I’m in and the CFA isn’t as relevant as it is in other areas of finance.
Oh well, bottoms up either way. Best of luck to all!
the issue is not that the AM is the red dragon because of pure difficulty. The grading process is totally translucent so you want to give yourself a cushion. for example if you totally bombed out lets say 10-20 points out of 180, there isnt a way in hell you make 160 or 150 (no 100% grading). you’d be lucky to make 115-125. I agree, it becomes pivotal to slay the PM coz atleast if you get it right you get full credit.
my heart is beginning to beat harder now
I’m not sure; I dont know what the abbreviations were. I think people are clutching at straws about that. I forget what mine said when I looked.
