i don’t think i killed the ips, but i do agree the shortcuts are very helpful! also believe the bootcamp is way more beneficial than continuing to study on your own for four days.

What’d you get on essay 2? Were you short on time in the am?
I wasn’t short on time at all in the morning, in fact I had time to go back and find an error in the morning. Last year (2010) was a different story, definitely ran out of time and didn’t even get to a question or two. I changed that this year. Below are my results. As you can see, a point or two on the IPS would have passed me. like i said, i didn’t kill ips, but i did a lot better than had i not rec’d guidance from marc l. i finished the a.m. w/ plenty of time but went back and probably changed 3-4 answers. i was writing down my last change as time expired. time is definitely an issue at l3 - wasn’t an issue at all at the other levels. also, i thought i nailed the a.m. and bombed the p.m. - turned out to be the opposite. I agree. I walked out of the morning thinking I did okay…not so much, and the afternoon thinking I for sure failed (which I did). Here’s the swift kick in the nuts. Here’s last years results 2010. If I do 40/60/80 on this, I actually scored worse than last year, but went from Band 7 to Band 10 because of the higher MPS. I know 40/60/80 is an approximation, but I don’t know if I’ll ever pass this thing or where to go from here. I put over 500 hours in to both years. Here’s my update. I passed. It wasn’t a pretty pass, but I believe the boot camp was the differentiating factor. I went back and forth as to whether or not I should go. I’m really glad I did. Marc Lefebvre for president!

I e-mailed Marc and asked him when the registration opens for the 2012 boot camp, and to my surprise, he e-mailed me back in 10 minutes and put my contact info down. Super cool and helpful guy. I never listened to one of his classes, but from all the positive feedback he is getting, he seems to really know his stuff.

Too bad, live-class (on-line) is not available.
one caveat, Ghibli. if you were to tackle it all yourself, you dont get the binder. which might be worth the price of admission itself.

Good point. Fair enough. And I did find the workbook of problems we got useful as well. Who am I to doubt? It probably suffers from self selection bias, but I’m guessing more than 51% of us passed. Bluejays all the way!
Hi. I’m new to the forum and also considering the Creighton Boot Camp. I spoke with Mark Lefabvre who indicated that he would be spending some additional time (possibly evening sessions) really focusing on the AM format. I’m heavily considering making the flight to Omaha in May. Would anyone who has attended be willing to share some of the materials? I’m trying to get a sense if it is worth the cost. Thanks in advance -
Thinking about taking this. AM section was my downfall. How did you guys get Lefebvre’s contact info?
never mind found it on the Creighton website.
Tell him AF referred you.
What hotel did you guys stay at?

It was very new (less than 1 year old) and had nice amenities like free wi-fi throughout the place, free appetizers and beer/wine in the evenings, and free shuttles on weekdays. For the weekends, they have bicycles you can use to get to and from Creighton University. The campus was about a mile away.
I stayed at the Homewood Suites. It’s new, has a decent continental breakfast, rooms are big (living room, kitchen, etc.) It’s about 1 mile from campus, but they run a couple of shuttles. I never had to wait more than 10 min. I think I paid ~$120/night.
Why can’t they move this thing into civilization? Because of all the positive comments here and elsewhere I looked into it. No direct flights from Boston. So, in addition to dropping $2,000+ (which I would likely do in a heartbeat if it meant a pass) the travel hours are killer. Doesn’t seem like it is in the cards for me.
i debated heavily about going or not since I had to take a flight out of LA and use 3 vacation days, plus pay for hotel, etc… in the end it also cost me about $2000 but it was worth it.
