Creighton University CFA Boot Camp

I had horrendous connections from So Cal through Denver both ways. Got into Omaha at 3:00 am instead of 10:00 pm. Going home, got to my house at 2:00 instead of 10:30 pm. I spent ~$2,000 and am so glad I did.

Well I guess I will keep it under consideration while I continue to look for something closer to home. Just posted about the BSAS bootcamp (helped with Level II, but the accounting section was run so poorly that they gave us some free materials and redid the session at a later date with another instructor), hopefully there’s some positive experiences.

I thought of attending it last year for level 2, but it was just week after Berkshire annual meeting. I wish they could combine with annual meeting or few weeks ahead of it. Worst case I might have to fly twice next year. Count me in.

My little sister lives in Omaha so gots a free place to stay

That’s interesting. Did he say if he was teaching the 16-week online “live” classes? http://www.schweser.com/cfa/instruction/16weekonline.php I might sign up, if that’s the case.

Marc is way better in person.

Bob Johnson, PhD, CFA Senior Managing Director Dr. Johnson joined CFA Institute as vice president responsible for the curriculum process of the CFA Program. Prior to working at CFA Institute, he was a professor of finance at Creighton University. http://www.cfainstitute.org/about/press/experts/Pages/bob_johnson.aspx

Yes Mr. LeFebvre e-mail me about it.

I talked to Schweser. It sounds like LeFebvre will be teaching the online classes for Level 2. Bruce Kuhlman will teach Level 3.

I would have definitely signed up for L3 video series if LeFebvre was doing it. Guess I have to get off my ass and go to Omaha now… bleah.

Is there anything as good as Creighton University CFA Boot Camp in Europe for level III ?

Kuhlman is no doubt very knowledgeable about the L3 curriculum but I agree, his energy level isn’t going to work for me either.

I just emailed Marc, and he said that he will be doing the Level III 16-week Schweser live online instruction starting in January. He’s also recorded the following sessions for us on the DVDs: SS 4 - Individual IPS, SS 9 and 10 Fixed Income and SS 17 Performance Evaluation.

Did Marc say that he is teaching all the study sessions for the online course or will he be teaching only a few sections?

Here’s what he said…“I’ll also be doing the 16 week live instruction beginning Tuesday, January 17th via the Schweser web site.”

I think it is possible that both Marc and Bruce might be teaching, one for the US time class and the other for London time class. That is what Schweser did for L2 this year, two instructors for two different times. Incidentally, despite signing up for the US class, I was able to see videos for both and I found the teaching method used by the instructor teaching the Uk time class more helpful.
