What is your opinion regarding this woman who is breastfeeding her friends child on top of her own and posting the pics online !
I personaly think as long as there are no health issues involved there is nothing wrong with breastfeeding someone elses child but then again,I come from a culture where I have witnessed women breastfeeding other children without thinking its a big deal.I dont know but maybe since breasts are considered sexual organs in a way there maybe some people advocating against the idea claiming its a mother-child bond. But then again you have to be some weird whack job to get sexual gratification by breastfeeding another child.Hence the argument goes on and on
The woman from whom we bought Geordie breeds both Collies and Corgies. She had a litter of Collies and a litter of Corgies at about the same time this year, and after about three weeks the Corgie bitch decided that she’d had enough and stopped nursing her pups. The Collie bitch nursed them after that. (Of course, when she stood up, they were hanging on for dear life, whereas the Collie pups could reach without breathing hard.)
The number of teats on mammals (remember that non-mammals don’t have them at all) is basically the even number closest or higher than the average litter size. Even because of bilateral symmetry, linked to litter size to promote survival and non-wasted energy. So most humans birth one organism at a time, with occasional twins, and much rarer instances of triplets and beyond, whereas cats and dogs tend to birth litters of 6-8. Elephants birth one at a time, so have two. Whales and dolphins probably have two, though I’m not 100% sure. Presumably there is some rotation, and occasional runts that get kicked out, but the bulk of the litter survives at least long enough to be weaned.
Women will also mention that if you overly breastfeed on one side, the teat gets sore, so it’s nice for them to be able to switch now and then…
The real question is why do men have two teats. (The answer seems to be that our bodies are female by default and start developing that equipment before testosterone hits the system and does all that macho stuff).
The notion that bodies are female by default and androgens turn us into men is no longer accepted. I have stated this before, men have teats because they can breastfeed. BS and Greenman can comment on this further.
There was a documentary I saw as a teenager,it showed a man in india who had milk coming out of his nipples. The weird thing was his nipples were pretty normal in size and shape,so I dont know where the milk glands were located.
Male lactation aside, it’s pretty clear that these vestiges are uncecessary and in fact, cause inconveniences such as chafing. So, it makes sense to offer a male nipple removal procedure at clinics. When this becomes a trend, remember that you read it here first.
