Friends/Seniors, I passed L1 in Jun’09 and have registered for L2 in Jun '10. In the mean time, I am leaning towards taking CTP (Certified Treasury Professional) certification in December '09, before taking L2 in Jun '10. I am in Singapore and currently working in Treasury domain. This CTP certification is administered by AFP (Association of Finance Professionals). I have heard of AFP but never knew CTP. My question is; is CTP known and recognized in US, Canada, Europe region? Have any of you heard of this certification? Though my inclination towards CTP is more for gaining knowledge, it will be good to know its standing too. Thanks. Even if your response is in negative, it is information to me.
^ Dude, you posted the same question in L1 forum.
Yes Damil4real, I have posted it in all 3 forums to get response from a wider audience. Thanks for your feedback in L1 thread. It is quite important to me.
never heard of it…you gotta find a balance 1-2 certifications is enough. If you wanna study and learn more go to grad school.
ctp is definitely known in the us treasury world. i had an internship in treasury (fortune 500 at the time) and everyone was either a ctp or studying for it.
I am a senior manager in Wal-Marts corporate treasury. When we hire, a CTP will give you a slight advantage in a cash mAanagement role, but would not be a significant difference maker in any other Treasury role.
Thank you friends. These are very valuable inputs to me.
