“Individuals may attempt to abuse the CFA Institute Professional Conduct Program by actively seeking CFA Institute enforcement of the Cod and Standard, and Standard I (D) in particular, as a method to settle personal, political, or other disputes unrelated to professional ethics.” What does this mean???
I get so p!ssed off on you from the forum and call the CFAI PCP to launch an inquiry regarding your professional conduct.
its may be - if a manager doesn’t like any employee and wants to fire that guy but have no reason to do so, he can use any of the CFA misconduct rules (like if that employee has used any material info in buying any stock, front running etc) and fire him. May be a bad example but this is what it means
For example, yellayella, I hate you. I just don’t like your personality. So I call up CFA PCP and say hey, you guys need to investigate yellayella b/c he/she is a douchebag and I have a personal hatred toward him/her. That is an abuse of the PCP to settle a personal vendetta. Get it? It has nothing to do with professional activity.
This is definitely my favorite standard! By far!
I think of this when somebody tries to game the system by using the code and standards to hurt/damage someone’s reputation/career, etc.

Plus think about the damage to our reputation if charter holders are out there abusing Cod. That kind of weird stuff may be ok for actuaries, but doesn’t cut it for us.
ok thanks!
A little birdie told me someone was badmouthing actuaries in here… o_O
