As a kid before bed i would pray. My first wish was to be at least 6’2, make it to the NBA (often times i would settle on the MLB) and have a ferrari. Im sick of this humble bragging - being in the 6’2-6’4 range is awesome and we all know it.
I’m 6’6 and agree that the 6’2 - 6’4 range would be ideal. Being any taller is an inconvenience (clothes, traveling, etc.). My wife is (only) 5’7, but I have never really been attracted to women taller than 5’9ish for some reason.
When I took Tai Chi classes, my instructor always talked used an example of a woman taking on a 6’2" guy and leaving him in pain by using the moves (sped up, of course).
One day I asked him “So, I’m 6’2”… do we guys have any chance at all?" He replied “Of course you do, with your arms, you can reach us before we can reach you.”
My favorite was the move he demonstrated just before Thanksgiving: “Full man pushing away turkey,” he called it…
For some reason, I always thought Chad was at least 6’5". There were definitely posts on this board referring to his unusual height. He either forgot about them or didn’t bother to correct other posters.
I’ve always assume most of my inconveniences were weight related moreso than height related. I get most of my dress clothes tailored because of waist issues moreso than inseam issues. With dress shirts, it’s a combination of having a 56 or 58 inch chest and 41/42 inch arms that really cause problems. Traveling or going to movies/sports events I find the leg room is enough to work but the width of the seat is an issue.
I interviewed for a position at a hedge fund here in Minneapolis and during the interview the chair I was sitting in crashed right to the floor. They were extremely concerned about my well being, but the interview was over before I hit the ground.
The only real height related inconvencience I experience regularly is that in the United States, the standard doorway is 80 inches. I’m only 79 inches, but shoes or boots and a little bounce in the step and you’ll clip the top of a doorway at full speed. The doorway just takes a perfect divot and laughs at you.
Not incosiderate at all. I had a boss a few years ago that was about my size. He went crashing to the floor during a conference call one day and it was really the highlight of my time on that team. Assuming no injuries, people falling off furniture/bikes/animals/etc is right up there with unintentional shots to the crotch on the spontaneous comedy charts.
Between 330 and 350 depending on how active I am at any given time. Probably closer to 330 right now as the weather has turned and I’m playing or coaching something a few nights a week.
