I have 4 sections above > 70% of which includes the heavy weighting sections (FRA and Ethics), but my band is only 9. This must mean that the sections you scored between 50%-70% must be on the higher end of the range (ie. close to 70%). I’ve posted this before, but I am posting it again for comparison with your breakdown. Level 1: Fail The table below illustrates your subject matter strengths and weaknesses. The three columns on the right are marked with asterisks to indicate your performance on each question or topic area. Lol Nuppal, that’s what he gets to goofing around here all day instead of studying.

Give the kid a break. He’s probably heartbroken.

Who cares if nuppal passed or failed? He is probably more happy that he is starting his new job.

Didn’t he move to Miami? I’d rather be there than freezing my bum off in Canada! Haters are gonna hate, Nuppal.

Just because he started a new job, he still failed. Deserves it anyway.

I don’t understand the hate…

I know, right? The guy cracks a couple of jokes and hits on a few girls and people act like he’s a total jerk! These tests are serious and stressful. A little laughing on the side is good for us.

PASS!!! Band 9 june09. Then 3 months to refine knowledge. This is a sweet pass b/c I had a nasty sinus infection leading up to and during the exam. Almost no studying the week before and zero sleep the night before. No study material is superior to the institute’s books for me. The exam tests analytical skill far more than any third party material IMHO. Read the official text first, do a sample exam on the CFA site, and only then buy 3rd party material to practice more. I also thought the dec09 exam was noticeably more difficult than june09. Anyone afraid they are trying to adjust number of successful candidates to compliment the future employment market?

OH MY GOD! I passed by the skin of my teeth!!! Level 1: Pass The table below illustrates your subject matter strengths and weaknesses. Thought I’d practice some humility and help the self-selection bias too… BTW - BA in History, 6 years in Private Banking (yrs ago), a few years in Comm’l RE workouts (mid-'80s). I ran out of time, didn’t get to Derivs and Alt. Inv. (started reading these Dec. 6), and had no time to review anything, hence bombing on Quant and Econ. Only read the CFA books, no sample/mock exams. Took notes which really slowed me down but hey, that’s the way I learn - too bad no time to review them - should help for June though since I understood all the material. Since I knew I would fail I seriously considered not even sitting for the exam but I’d rather fail than quit! A good experience for the future and I did MUCH better than I thought I would. I would appreciate any advice for going forward from here. Thanks! Also, is it worth it to join the Boston Society? Congrats to all who passed and to those who tried.
