In case anyone is in the same boat… I got the email to activate my membership at 6am on the day after day zero. It’s finally official!
Got the Charter today… feels good 
It will feel good for about 2 days then the novelty wears off

i applied on 18th (Monday) and today my status changed from “Work Experience Review” to “Under Review - Society”. So it took about 3.5 days for the work ex to be approved for me.
Now waiting for the society review eagerly. Does anyone here have experience of how long the Singapore society review takes?
Submited mine on Tuesday, became under work experience review on Wednesday, and it changed to Under Review - Society today.
Just got an email asking me to activate my membership online. It was a smooth process, filled PCP form, paid the dues and VOILA - the three magic letters appeared behind my name on the homepage.
CFA !! Feels surreal to finally achieve this milestone.
I called up the CFA contact centre and they told me (after checking my candidate ID number) that I was awarded the charter immediately on paying the dues and as such can start using the designation!
In total the work ex approval and local society approval process was quite smooth and took 5 days for me.
Applied last Friday, CFA Institute just approved my work experience today. Status: Under Review

Anybody in NYC know how long it takes? I applied Monday night and I think work experience was approved Wednesday or Thursday. I wasn’t sure how fast the NYC Society typically turns around apps.
I tried calling; sent couple of emails, yet nothing back from the society here. something tells me I have to wait 27 more days to get the charter :)!! how lucky i am.
Contact your local CFA society. (Was told that most of them only meet once on a monthly basis.). I did it for Los Angeles. Within one hour of sending my inquiry by e-mail, I received a response saying “review in first week of September” and approval “in either the second or third week of that month”.
Sucks to wait, but at least I know.
I applied with Los Angeles society as well. Thanks for sharing the information. I emailed Laura a few hours ago, will share if I hear anything useful.
Just got my work experience accepted with CFAI. All 142 months was approved, its now under societal review. I hope that my local society does this quickly.
I am correct in stating that you cannot get the charter until your local society signs off on your experience, right ?

Bilal, has your local society approved your applciation as yet, can you use the designation before your local societry approves the application
Called the institute, the local society must approve before I can use the designation so I guess I have to wait soem more.
Seems like CFAI and the German CFA Society are working on weekends. Got approved on Saturday evening. Proud CFA Charterholder now. 
The society replied back to my email today and approved my application. I paid membership and society fees then “CFA” showed next to my name when i log in CFAI website after 10 minutes of submitting the payment =)! You can’t use the three letters before they show next to your name when you log in…
Wondering if there is any reason for a local society to reject an application after CFAI approves work experience? Otherwise I wouldn’t mind waiting the remaining days but the suspense is making me anxious.
The local society does not reject an application that was approved by CFAI, based on a source that may be biased (heard from a CFAI staff). Their main purpose is to collect and update the demographic information in the region.
