After reading Quants, I got confused about df. If I have the following examples, why df is 22? df = N-k-1

n=24, k=1?
Exactly: the df for var(y) is 23=n-1; the df for var(error) is 22=n-k-1; the df for var(explained/regression) is 1=k .
