Who knows? the terminology is so screwed up. I think if your high interest savings has a checkbook and is not fdic insured then it is a demand deposit.
I think if it has a checkbook or even a passbook and they don’t fine you for taking out the money and it’s at a bank, it’s a demand deposit. If think that passboook savings at FDIC insured institutions are demand deposits.
