Did anyone read the material over twice?

I am almost done reading the schweser notes…twice. It sucked. I only have Equity left which i saved for last. Leaving the last 4 weeks for doing questions and reviewing the main concepts a third time over. Just wondering if anyone tried doing this also and if it helped. I read through it straight through the first time and then went backwards the second time, doing the CFAI end of chapter questions (which I thought were really long) along the way.

I’m with you there, only have book 5 left, and then plan to read over CFAI Ethics. 2nd time around definitely makes things stand out better, as I could hardly remember the material after the first read. Haven’t done the questions my 2nd go around, as I’m shooting to do that once I’m done with all the readings. I feel like there is a bias with doing questions immediately after the readings, as the topic is fresh in your mind…IMO, going back to Schweser questions after all the readings will better target areas of strengths/weaknesses.

I’m just about done my second read through, and do the “challenge questions” and “self-tests” as I go - only did the concept checkers the first time around. I find that it helps me tremendously, as your understanding of concepts (mine, at least) was far greater the second time around, the the number of “aha” moments (when something finally “clicks”) increased exponentially.

i wish i do

This is exactly what I’m doing. Once I finish the reading on Swaps I’ll be done with my 2nd pass. Looking to do the CFA sample and a Schweser Book 6 exam next week and will adjust my study plan based on the results.

Doing a fast track pass 2 along with CFAI questions. Planing to spend almost 6 hours per study session.

Sounds about like me. I have quant, PM, FI, and derivatives left for my second reading… this time around, following up each study session by going through all of the concept checkers and q-bank questions.

That’s the approach I am taking. The CFAI questions really helped me as I found the Schweser’s concept checkers pretty straight forward. For the remaining 4-5 weeks, I would stick with Secret Sauce, Q-Banks, Book 6, selective problems from Book 7 and CFAI mock exams.
