What is the failing score you define? The low 60s? I did 6 practice exams and two full CFAI mocks. Failed the very first two and the last one :(. Sat for the real exam last Sat and now quite worried… Haiz.
I thought the schweser mocks were very difficult, and far more difficult than the real exam. I thought the CFAI mock was easier, I just hadn’t practiced that material very much. So after doing badly on the mock, what I did was: broke the Schweser exams into sections, and drilled all the ethics, then all the Math, then all the Equity, FI so on and so forth. I kept the lengths very small, so I never did more than 6 problems at once at any time, just to get constant feedback. Thankfully it worked. And when I cracked open the exam, it felt easy.
No point speculating any more… Just enjoy the Christmas mood and spirit. If you not Christian then enjoy the holidays, shopping sales etc. 28th of Jan will tell you to jump to level 2 or not.
FSC, you’re spot on. I had the same experience in my studies.
If you know more than one person that failed the mocks (<70% to save us the arguments), I think we might be in good shape if we broke 65% total on the actual.
The AM was easier than any mock I’ve taken, I totally agree. But I’m not certain I scored 70%+ on it…
No. I passed all three exams but never passed a mock. I never used it as a be-all and end-all barometer. I did the mocks a week or two before the exam only as a way to check the breadth of my knowledge and to brush up on weak spots.
What is the point of giving yourself mental pressure from a mock exam that may or may not cover topics you see on the exam? What if you know everything on the mock but know nothing on the exam day? EOCs are the best way to review, IMO.
Well, you must be exceptionally intelligent to have passed the exams by doing mocks only 2 weeks before the actual exams. I think it’s only logical to use your mock performance as a measure of where you stand.
I’m realizing now that I missed too many stupid mistakes to have passed the test. Such a bummer…
@meeee20: Don’t loose hope…The results are yet to come…:)…If u aced ur mocks then I m quite sure u will atleast clear the real one as well…It could be that xam was not up to ur expectation but still enough to take u a step ahead…!
