Did the reporter go too far with Mike Tyson on live TV?

Ballsy? Absolutely. Appropriate? Not so sure.

Tyson’s response is awesome. You know that wuss host had an “oh sh!t” moment internally seconds after that came out of his mouth…

You know, I normally don’t do interviews with guys unless I fornicate with them first. So you shouldn’t talk anymore. Unless you want to…you know.

How can you invite someone to your show and just bullshit them like that on TV? Mike was spot on.

Too bad he didn’t pull out his famous line “I’ll f*ck you until you love me”.

Am I the only person that can’t understand a damn word said in that interview without rewinding a few times?

The host received the appropriate response.

I knew a sports reporter who said that he interviewed Tyson once. It was the most uncomfortable interview he’d ever done. The whole time, he felt like there was a bomb about to go off.

And talking to him, he said that you could tell something wasn’t right. He likened it to the news guys you see on TV, where one person is in NY and the other one is in Beijing and there’s that 5 second delay. He said that he could just see the wheels turning in Tyson’s head, like he had to process what you said to him first, even if it was just “How are you?”.

From a Darwinian perspective…absolutely. As the host moved on and tried to change the subject its was so clear that Mike could not get beyond the question and was on the verge of strangling him.

I mean what do you expect though? That question was totally uncalled for. Is Tyson supposed to just forget about it and go on with the interview? I’m surprised he didn’t walk out.

Even after seeing Mike in The Hangover, watching his documentary, and seeing him be on his test behavior I’m still terrified of the guy.

That’s what makes the reporter ballsy. It might have been uncalled for, but how many people would have said that to Mike Tyson’s face. While preparing for the interview, how do you not assume that there might be a chance that Tyson punches you in the face for asking that question.
