Difference between Global depository receipt and Global registered share

What is the difference between Global depository receipt and Global registered share?

GDR: foreign company should be trading in the domestic exchange and the DR are similar to equity share. GDR are outside US.

GRS: Share of a company traded in multiple exchanges , in currencies of the of the respective exchanges.

are the above explanation correct?

They are.

However, note that, despite CFA Institute’s footnote, the correct spelling is deposit a ry. The fact that lots of people in finance spell it deposit o ry simply goes to show that they’re poor at spelling.

Thanks for the reply and the spelling advice…

My pleasure.
