My study for the last three days has not been effective at all. I’m reading but I’m not really retaining anything, it’s more like I’m just reading words. I catch myself and can focus for maybe 10 min before I start zoning out again. I’m forcing myself to keep reading and going over practice problems night after night primarily out of guilt and because I keep telling myself it’s the right thing to do. Anyhow, I’m curious, do you think it’s possible to experience diminishing returns to further study?
I’ve actually been thinking about the same thing… except in terms of negative returns to studying i.e. once you log in 3~4+ hours in a day, you’re bound to be effecting the following day’s performance. But then again, a bunch of guys on the L2 board completed 30+ hour marathons this weekend… Blah, just keep at it. Too close to the end to be fizzing out.

I have come across negative returns when i study more then 5-6 hours but usually its not apparent the next day. To cope Ive found the best way combat that is to go outside and get some fresh air and do some moderate cardio. If you cant do that do something that clears your mind in relaxes you. then throw down studying for another 2-3 hrs. Every three days if its gonna be a chill day at work, after studying drink liquor and/or smoke blunts as necessary to relieve the pain, remember, you have no friends, you have no family and you have no soul your only sustenance is CFA. Before you go to bed, think about how much you’ll love your free time after this, for alot of us its summer, think about the beach, going waterskiing, hiking, racing your car. taking a shorty out to the beach when the sun is setting and have her thinking its romantic when all you wanted to do was kill some time.

Sigh – that was good. Talk about empathy.
Boy I can definitely relate to this post. In late May I always felt as though I was spinning the tires. I don’t know what to tell you. It’s normal. Willy
