Disappointed with CFAI

The whole Italy-France match wouldn’t have mattered because with a Romania victory they would have gone through to the quarter finals. And worrying about things that are going ‘too well’… is not my style! France - Italy was probably over after 7 mins (Ribery injury - he’s the only guy that bothers running) and definitely over after 26 mins (Abidal red card). I just can’t believe how hopeless the France manager is (or ‘was’ - this guy is a goner). He leaves out players like Sagna / Clichy / Flamini / Trezeguet (good players that had a good season) from the squad, in favour of players like Thuram / Gomis / Viera / Henry (good players, but plagued by injuries, poor form and old age). Completely incomprehensible. I can only suppose that his character was too weak to make changes from the 2006 World Cup final team.

Right. BTW - The whole Vivre clan lives around Gronigen so I root for th Dutch in these spots. > And worrying about things that are going ‘too > well’… is not my style! > > > JoeyDVivre Wrote: > -------------------------------------------------- > ----- > > I guess it wouldn’t have mattered even if the > > Dutch had thrown the game. How about the Romanian squad… They know they can take it to the next round by beating a Dutch team that already knows they’re through. Little incentive for their opponent. What they do is keep 8 guys behind the ball and waiting for a counter. Even after the first goal from Holland they didn’t take any chances and seemed to be playing for a draw even when they knew Italy was 2-0 ahead. That’s pretty lame. JDV has roots in Holland…??? That explains some of your wise comments

Who cares about soccer? I live in the U.S. and the Celtics are king!

The Lakers looked completely lame. Hard to celebrate beating a team that looked like that.

my man Kobe had no help!
