Do we need to remember the equations for spending rules?

The three rules I have noted are

Spending rule

Rolling three year avg spending rule

Geometric smoothing rule.

Do I need to bother trying to remember the formulas?

As far as I remember, the spending rules were always specified in the exam. I didnt memorize them (though most of them are straight forward).

Obviously our Magician is the right person to answer this.
